Fauquier Health offers state-of-the-art medical imaging technology.

CT & CT Angiography:
Our 32-slice scanner can accomplish a complete scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvis in one breath hold. One breath hold means a dramatically reduced chance of a blurred images due to breathing or patient motion. We have an additional dedicated CT scanner located within our Emergency Department, allowing us to respond to our emergency patients quickly.
X-ray:
Our mobile, digital x-ray system can be rolled to the bedside anywhere in the hospital, producing images in 3 seconds. The images are immediately available for viewing by physicians through our electronic Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), even if the physician is not in the hospital. Portability means less movement for the patient which means less discomfort. X-ray services also include conventional x-ray and fluoroscopic systems for more comprehensive examinations and procedures.
Ultrasound:
Our ultrasound systems are a brand new platform, providing superior image quality along with 3D/4D imaging when needed. Monitors are located in each exam room for easy viewing of the images by the patient.
Nuclear Medicine:
Our advanced, (dual head) gamma camera can scan a patient lying on a stretcher, sitting in a wheelchair, standing, or on the stationary imaging table, allowing for a more comfortable experience for the patient.
Mammography:
Our digital mammography systems provide superb image quality and image availability within 10 seconds. We also have the technology to "digitize" patients' prior film mammograms into our PACS, providing the radiologist (M.D.) with optimal conditions to recognize any changes in breast tissue.
Bone Densitometry:
DEXA uses a very low level of radiation, to produce hip and spine images that will provide an accurate assessment of bone density (thickness) and a comfortable experience for the patient.
MRI & MR Angiography:
We use a 1.5 Tesla high-field magnet for superior image quality and very fast image acquisition. Our MRI scan room provides lots of natural lighting and a choice of satellite radio stations via headphones so our patients can listen to their favorite music during the exam.
