Ralph De Simone, MD
Pathology

As a pathologist, Dr. De Simone participates in the day-to-day care of our patients by interpreting laboratory information to help solve diagnostic problems and monitor the effects of therapy. His areas of expertise include: examining organs, tissues and cells removed during surgical procedures to diagnose disease; examining bodily fluids, such as blood and urine, to diagnose infection and disease using chemistry, bacteriology and hematology procedures; preparing blood and blood components for transfusion; and performing autopsies. Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. De Simone understands that our patients’ needs always come first. And that’s why he places such a high priority on accuracy, efficiency and confidentiality.

Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1986, Dr. De Simone completed the Fairfax Hospital Internship and Pathology Residency Program.

Employment
Dr. De Simone joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Fauquier Pathology Associates in 1989, right after he completed his residency program.
