Joseph David, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. David believes in a concept of health care that places a high priority on quality, compassion, dignity and comfort. This concept aligns perfectly with our mission, and through his efforts as a former Board of Trustee member, Dr. David’s insights have helped to shape the policies and long-range goals of our health system. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. David supports the Planetree philosophy of patient care belief that health care should be delivered in a manner that works best for the patients.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland in 1989, Dr. David completed the Medical College of Virginia Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program.
Certifications and Proficiencies
Dr. David is certified in electrocardiography (ECG) by the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the Fauquier County Medical Society and the Medical Society of Virginia.
Employment
Dr. David has been in private practice at Fauquier Health with Piedmont Internal Medicine since 1992, and has been the medical director for Hospice Support of Fauquier County since 1994. Leadership positions that Dr. David has held at Fauquier Health include president of the Medical Staff, chairman of the Department of Medicine and Patient Care Monitoring Committee, at-large medical staff member of the Executive Committee, and member of the Fauquier Hospital Board of Trustees.
Personal Interests
Dr. David is married and has three children. He enjoys volunteering for the Fauquier Free Clinic, and has been on at least one mission trip per year since 2003. Dr. David is also active in leadership positions at his church.
