Fauquier Hospital's LIFE Center (Lifestyle Intervention through Fitness & Education) offers an individualized and medically based exercise program using exercise and education to facilitate good health. It is for people who want to take control of their health and live an active lifestyle. The LIFE Center is a different kind of fitness facility. Instead of a loud, bustling environment, it provides a soothing, stress-free arena where you can achieve your fitness goals. The emphasis is on individualized success, with lots of equipment choices, one-on-one attention from exercise specialists and a convenient, comfortable, beautifully designed facility.
Exercise is one of the best ways to take charge of your health, because it reduces your risk for:

- high blood pressure
- diabetes
- many other chronic illnesses
For existing injuries or chronic illnesses, like heart or lung disease, arthritis,and many other conditions, the correct exercise can vastly improve a person’s quality of life by bringing the body up to its best functioning level. It can make the difference between you controlling your medical condition or it controlling you.
Our Staff Makes the Difference
The LIFE Center staff sets us apart from other gyms - certified exercise physiologists with expertise in:
- Cardiac and lung health
- Post rehabilitation exercise plans: Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Strength training and conditioning
Our staff members are always on the floor, answering questions and offering assistance. Our exercise physiologists are also certified personal trainers. For members who are in a rehabilitation program, the LIFE Center staff maintains an ongoing relationship with their physicians, sending periodic progress reports.
The Facility
Located in the Piedmont Professional Center off Holiday Court in Warrenton, the LIFE Center’s spa-like amenities will enhance your exercise experience. After working out on treadmills, stationary bicycles, recumbent bicycles, recumbent stair steppers, elliptical cross trainers and more, you can enjoy the luxury of the beautiful dressing rooms (with showers) and relaxing massage rooms or enjoy a healthy snack in our café.
Members enjoy a full line of advanced strength equipment, including the 3-D Smith Machine and a cable pulley station, as well as traditional equipment like free weights, bench press and therabands. We also have two studios for group exercise classes, like Yoga and Pilates, and health education classes. There are large screen TVs and wireless internet connections throughout, and iPod jacks and personal TVs on much of the equipment.
Hours of Operation
The facility is open Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The LIFE Center is closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Program Costs and Features
There is a range of affordable membership options, including special pricing for couples and families. Although we offer medically based programs, you do not need a physician referral to join.
The initial cost for screening and registration is $75.00 and includes a wellness assessment and personal training session. During the wellness assessment, an exercise physiologist will talk with you about your health history and goals. They will do several health screenings to measure your cholesterol levels, body mass index, body composition, flexibility, grip strength and balance. An exercise physiologist will analyze your health history, your personal fitness goals and wellness measurements, then design an exercise program just for you. He or she will then take you through your program step by step. If you have questions after these initial appointments, someone is always available to help you.
Benefits of Membership
A full range of classes, including Yoga, Pilates, aqua classes and other group exercise sessions are included in your LIFE Center membership. Members receive discounts on massage services, personal training services and specialty classes such as Tai Chi. Periodic fitness re-evaluations and exercise program updates are free of charge for members.
