Adam Winick, MD
Interventional Radiology

Dr. Winick is recognized both locally and nationally for his work in the field of interventional radiology. Prior to joining Fauquier Health, Dr. Winick held leadership positions at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital and the George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC). And for more than a decade, he has published extensively on interventional radiology topics, served as a reviewer for professional journals, and been featured as a speaker at numerous regional and national medical conferences. Board certified in radiology and vascular interventional radiology, Dr. Winick is a highly-respected physician who has devoted his career to treating and diagnosing diseases, educating professionals, and being an advocate for our patients.

Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the New Jersey Medical School in 1989, Dr. Winick completed the Bryn Mawr Hospital Diagnostic Radiology Internship and Residency Program, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program.

Honors and Awards
Among his many honors, Dr. Winick received the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence from the Department of Radiology at GWUMC, and was a Picker-AUR (Association of University Radiologists) Faculty Development Program award recipient. He has also been featured as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian Magazine multiple times. Dr. Winick is currently a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and the American College of Radiology. In addition, Dr. Winick has served on various committees for the Society of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Interventional Radiology and Radiographics .

Research
Dr. Winick has conducted research for articles that have appeared in a variety of books and professional journals, including Radiographics, Annals of Surgery, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and the Journal of Laparoendoscopic Surgery.

Employment
Prior to joining Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Radiology Associates in 2001, Dr. Winick was the Assistant Professor of Radiology and Surgery, and the Associate Director of Vascular Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was also the Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at GWUMC, where he developed a new vascular interventional radiology course for medical students and was very active in committee leadership positions. Dr. Winick is also active in leadership positions at Fauquier Health—he recently served as our medical staff president and currently serves as a member of both our hospital Board of Trustees and health system Board of Directors.
