Jennifer Wargo, MD Radiology
Dr. Wargo has collected a variety of accolades throughout her education and career. During her undergrad years, she graduated with Highest Distinction. During medical school, she received four prestigious academic scholarship awards. She also was inducted into three honor societies, and is currently a member of several professional medical societies. Board certified in radiology, Dr. Wargo understands that her job is about much more than accolades, honors and awards. It’s about improving the health of our community and making a difference in our patients’ lives.
Education and Training After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1996, Dr. Wargo completed the University of Maryland Medical System Internship and Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, and the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship Program.
Honors and Awards Among her many academic honors, Dr. Wargo graduated cum laude from medical school, and graduated with Highest Distinction from her undergraduate honors program of study at the University of North Carolina (UNC), Chapel Hill. She also received: the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award; the Abraham Lilienfeld Award in Epidemiology and Biostatistics; the American Medical Women’s Association Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Award; and the Nichols Scholarship. While attending UNC, she made the Dean’s List each semester, and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies. During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Wargo is currently a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
Research Dr. Wargo has conducted research on the cost effectiveness of cervical spine radiography in assault victims, and her findings were presented at an annual meeting for the American Roentgen Ray Society. She also conducted research on 58 patients related to imaging findings in the portal venous and enteric-drained pancreas transplant, and those findings were presented at an annual meeting for the Radiological Society of North America.
Employment Dr. Wargo joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Radiology Associates in 2001, right after she completed her fellowship program.
Personal Interests Dr. Wargo is married and enjoys cooking and gardening.
