Mohsin Husain, MD Radiology
Radiology is an exciting and expanding field, and the sophistication level of our crosssectional imaging tools—such as CT, MRI and ultrasound—has improved dramatically over the past decade. Thanks to new technology, radiologists can now construct three dimensional models to help physicians visualize and identify ailments. Having recently completed a fellowship in cross-sectional imaging, Dr. Husain is familiar with all of the latest developments in his field. And as a board-certified radiologist, he brings to Fauquier Health not only a genuine desire to help patients, but a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care.
Education and Training After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2000, Dr. Husain completed the Harbor Hospital Internal Medicine Internship Program and the Christiana Care Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program. Following, he completed a fellowship program in cross-sectional imaging at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital.
Certifications and Proficiencies Dr. Husain is certified in basic life support and advanced life support.
Honors and Awards Among his many academic awards, Dr. Husain graduated with honors from the undergraduate biology program at Indiana University.
Research Dr. Husain has conducted research on: the platelet inhibitory effect of nitric oxide in the human coronary circulation and the impact of endothelial dysfunction, glutathione reversal of endothelial dysfunction and how it improves nitric oxide bioavailability, and the ways in which the alteration of the endothelial redox state with glutathione improves nitric oxide bioavailability in atherosclerosis.
Employment Dr. Husain joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Radiology Associates in 2006, after completing his radiology fellowship program at Brown University.
Personal Interests Dr. Husain enjoys traveling, camping, biking and white-water rafting.
