David Weber, MD
Radiology

Medical technology is improving at breakneck speed, and because of that, we need leaders in place who can keep our health system up-to-date. As the current chairman of our Medical Imaging Department, Dr. Weber is doing a remarkable job of ushering in the new era of technology and services. Under his guidance, we recently added: two new digital mammography units; a variety of new, cutting-edge interventional radiology procedures; and extended customer service hours for our diagnostic imaging scans. Board certified in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Weber understands that medical imaging is about much more than going from the grainy black-and-white x-ray films of yesteryear to the high-tech digital scans of today; it’s about improving the quality of care our patients receive.

Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida School of Medicine in 1986, Dr. Weber completed the Good Samaritan Hospital of Maryland Internship Program, and the Mount Sinai Medical Center Diagnostic Residency Program and Imaging Fellowship Program.

Honors and Awards
Dr. Weber is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.

Employment
Dr. Weber joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Radiology Associates in 1996. Prior to that, he was a radiologist in Florida for six years.

Personal Interests
Dr. Weber is married and has three children.

What is the difference between a Medical Center and a Hospital?

In general a medical center often times includes a several types of health facilities like, hospitals, medical schools, and research facilities. The focus is larger and not completely on patient care. Hospitals on the other hand are smaller and staffed with health care experts and are focused on patients’ treatment and health.
