About Us

Fauquier Health has spent the last eight years changing the culture of care.
Since May of 2000, Fauquier Hospital has been a Planetree affiliate. Planetree is a model of personalized care that is all-encompassing, from the design of the physical environment to the welcoming of family members as part of the health care solution.
Millions of dollars have been spent transforming the hospital into a beautiful, soothing, healing environment. Artwork graces the walls and soft music fills the hallways.
The hospital staff takes great pride in providing nurturing, patient-centered care. Family and friends are welcome anytime, day or night, and each of the 97 patient rooms is designed as a single-occupancy room with a bed for caregivers to spend the night.
A patient concierge visits with admitted patients and offers a friendly ear and a helping hand.

“Hospital food” is also out-of-the-ordinary at Fauquier Health; The Bistro on the Hill provides food options for patients and their guests. Earning a reputation of it own in Warrenton, the Bistro serves everything from brick-oven pizza to gourmet pasta, from a fresh soup and salad bar to shrimp stir-fry. Bakers keep the dessert case filled with fresh cakes and pies, cookies and tarts. Community groups frequently congregate at The Bistro, and catering for off-site events is available.
The hospital’s goal throughout its transformation was to become a designated Planetree facility.
In May of last year, Planetree representatives performed a final review. Fauquier Hospital was among only five in the nation – and the only one in Virginia -- to claim the patient-centered care designation.
What does this mean? Fauquier Hospital has been recognized nationwide for doing the most advanced work in patient-centered care. The hospital was judged on more than 40 specific criteria, relating to quality of care, and the ways in which that care is delivered.
Becoming a Planetree-designated site was, for Fauquier Hospital, not an end, but a beginning. The hospital’s administration and staff continue to strive for patient-centered innovation.
